Brussels Treasury Manager

The position of Brussels Treasury Manager is a newly created position within International Treasury. This role will have a functional reporting line to the International Treasurer and a local reporting line to the Head of Global Markets Brussels. The Brussels Treasury Manager will play a key role in managing our local treasury activities and in supporting our other International treasury activities in EMEA. The Brussels Treasury Manager will also provide support with regulatory requirements & documentation pertaining to Brussels Treasury.

This role will face off to and have direct contact with:


* Local Senior Management, Senior Regional Management and Senior Regional Management Committees in EMEA
* Lines of Business Heads
* Senior Management in Corporate Treasury, Risk Management, Tax, Compliance and Legal

Specific responsibilities include:

Ø Responsible for managing liquidity and interest rate risk positions of the local balance sheet within approved limits and guidelines
Ø Responsible for execution of day-to-day funding transactions and management of central bank and nostro accounts in the most cost efficient manner.
Ø Responsible for maximizing the return on day-to-day cash balances and for ensuring continuous access to cost efficient day-to-day funding
Ø Playing a lead role in the local risk committees ensuring that Treasury related issues (eg. liquidity and interest rate risk) are adequately covered
Ø Responsible for ensuring local liquidity policies are up-to-date and contingency funding plans are in place, and tested, where required
Ø Responsible for providing support with regulatory requirements & documentation pertaining to Brussels Treasury eg. Annual Liquidity Assessment Review as required by the CBFA.
Ø Responsible for actively participating in International Treasury and/or other Corporate Treasury initiatives.
Ø Providing support, where required, in the regional ALCO process
Ø Understanding the Bank's asset and liability management policies, procedures and processes and be able to act within them, provide guidance on them, and be able to explain and articulate the requirements.
Ø Provide support on ad hoc deliverables relating to the local regulatory environment.

The Brussels Treasury Manager will be based in Brussels, Belgium.

Additional Context:
The asset and liability management process relates to the integral process of stabilizing earnings, protecting market value, sustaining strong liquidity and maintaining sufficient capital. The primary components are interest rate risk management, funding and liquidity, corporate FX management, capital management and funds transfer pricing.
Corporate Treasury is responsible for group-wide liquidity management, interest rate risk management, corporate fx management and funds transfer pricing. It's mission is to deliver high quality risk management and other market related consultative services, on a cost-effective basis, in support of plans and objectives established by Senior Management, the Finance Committee, and lines of business management.

Qualifications

To perform this role the candidate will need to have a comprehensive working knowledge of the money markets, treasury products and execution. Prior front office dealing experience working within a treasury department is required and experience with Emerging Market currencies is preferred.

The technical skills and knowledge required for this role are:


* Solid understanding of international money markets
* Prior experience as money market dealer, preferably with experience in Emerging Market currencies
* Strong, comprehensive knowledge of full range of treasury products
* Prior experience / dealing with international regulators and regulations
